There are six important elements of a winning framework:
- Describe and Visualize the End Result
- Breakdown into small tasks
- Create success criteria
- Measure and Correct
#1 – Describe & Visualize the end result :
You have to start with an end in mind, and it has to be described in finer details for your chances to get closer to winning or final outcome. Just imagine you taking your car out of your garage without even knowing where you are going. You always take your car out with the destination in mind and once the destination is decided, your mind chalks out the path that has to be taken to reach the destination. If you do not know the exact details about the destination, you will never reach anywhere. Visualization helps your mind to create a virtual reality for itself and your subconscious starts working towards it. All successful people use it consciously or unconsciously to reach the destination they want to reach.
#2 – Breakdown into small tasks :
Once the final destination is described and visualized, you need to break it down into smaller pieces. Continuing with our previous example, once you have decided the destination you need to know the sequence of roads to get. Each road you take to the destination is another objective on your task list. These tasks are important because it allows you to create small tasks and milestones. This task list acts as a map towards your final destination.
#3 – Create success criteria :
This is one of the most important steps of a winning framework.Well-known marketing guru Peter Drucker says, “Whatever gets measured gets managed”. This is where most people fail. It involves a lot of thinking. Try asking yourself the following question – “How will I know that I am on the right track”. Do not proceed until you have answered this question.
Without measuring you will not know which way you are heading. You might reach a roadblock or you might have to take a wrong road.
#4 – Execute :
Once the map is ready and you have a success measurement plan in place, you need to take your car out and get ready to drive. You need to follow the map you created in step two. Do not think too far ahead. Just take one small step at a time.
Your first step starts your wheel of momentum. Once you reach each milestone congratulate yourself.
#5 – Measure And Correct Success :
Every now and then you should review your progress against the success plan you have created. This step will determine if you are on the right track or not. If you are on the right track then continue going. However, if you are not on the right track then you need to take the corrective action before you start moving again. Step four is an iterative step and has to be done repeatedly until you are sure that you are on the right track. This is where most Life Coach come in handy – they can be treated a control mechanism
#6 – Complete :
Once you are on the right track, please make sure that you complete what you have started.
Most of the people fail to follow through even when they are on the right track.
